A Well Deserved Tip of the Fedora

Ask any student - from any school - and they will usually tell you that they want to be through with school - be it homework, a test, or just looking ahead to spring holidays. The smiles on Friday afternoon are usually a very good indication of this truth.  However, there are some finishes that students do not dream about. One such finish was held Friday morning as the seniors involved with the basketball program were honored in front of their parents, fans, and the student body.  Last Friday was to be the final home game of the season but the game was cancelled due to weather.  The cancellation deprived these seniors of their last game in front of their home crowd and the usual pageantry of a final home game. MHS does not let an opportunity to honor students slip away - especially for a little bad weather. Dr. Lishman and Coach Patterson spoke to the crowd about the hard work that each of these young men and women have dedicated to the MHS athletic program.  Several of these young men and women have been working with the program since seventh grade and have put in countless hours of practice and have run many miles for the chance to play for the Chiefs. 

We thank you - the senior basketball players, cheerleaders, and support staff for your tireless work.  Good luck for the rest of the season and in all of your future endeavors.
