Graduation Day

Much has been said on this website lately about the many accomplishments the students of Magnolia Heights have attained in the past year.  MHS has had three (3!!!) separate awards day ceremonies in as many school days because  we really think it is important to honor students and teachers for their hard work and dedication.  It is an MHS tradition to honor and to hold the spotlight up to show the world what our students and teachers have done in the past year.  But there is one thing that we have not talked about, but is much more important and any standard award.   It is the call to move on.

The end of the school session brings us to some of the most important ceremonies of the entire year - graduation.  Monday evening the 4k kindergarten gathered in Troutt Hall in front of a large crowd of family and friends to graduate.  The children seemed to have fun reciting their nursery rhymes and singing, but the parents saw it as a rite of passage into the most formative times in their children's lives.  And they will continue this formative time until the day they are dismissed from the Hill for the last time with a smile on their face and a solid education in 2022.

(Proof of the smiles can be seen in the picture to the right.)

Congratulations to the Class of 2022.  We are SO proud of you!!

"Well Seniors, this is it. The next time - and the last time - you will all be together as a group is the night of your graduation. At that time you leave the building not as students, but as MHS Alumni.  And now - for the last time ever as the Class of 2009 - you are dismissed."
